Whad’ya do?
I am a freelance writer, editor, consultant and strategist in Toronto. I was previously the executive digital editor at FASHION Magazine, and now I work with publications such as the Globe & Mail, The Kit, Flare, Canadian Art and NOW Magazine.
What inspired you to become a writer/editor?
I always knew I was creative, but didn’t know how to harness it until I wrote a critique of my classmates’ obsession with wearing ratty sweatshirts, sweatpants tucked into wooly socks and Birkenstocks in high school for a class assignment.
Tell me about how Capsule 98 came to be!
I was cleaning out my closet at my parents’ house and found a massive, three-part time capsule I made in 1998. It is so full of gems, and so well documented (like, I kept every movie ticket and included ratings, comments and who I saw them with) that I was kvelling just going through. I knew I had to share it, and so @capsule98 was born!
Were you into astrology as a kid / tween / teen?
My sister was into new-agey stuff, and I liked anything she did, so yes!
Have you ever had a day when your horoscope was dead on?
Rarely, but it happens.
What do you like about being a Taurus?
I like that we’re supposed to be v sensual and one with nature. And into luxxxxxxury.
What do you dislike about being a Taurus?
I don’t relate to a bunch of Taurus traits. Taurus are supposed to homebodies who are lazy and be resistant to change, but that’s the opposite of me.
Taurus signs are known for having a love of luxury, but also practicality.
Who are your favourite Canadian fashion designers?
Markoo and Beaufille.
Who are your favourite international fashion designers?
Historically, Elsa Schiaparelli and Yves Saint Laurent. Generally, Miuccia Prada, Nicolas Ghesquiere and Dries Van Noten. Right now, Demna Gvasalia at Balenciaga, Marques Almeida, Proenza Schouler and Christopher Kane.

Used to be dominatrix chokers, now it’s oversized hoop earrings.

Leggings and a huge sweater… aka me all winter.
